About this guide/itinerary:

What’s a Travel Itinerary?

We give you fully-formed itineraries with sights, activities, restaurants, recipes and more all planned out day-by-day so that you can spend more time relaxing and less time planning. We’ve personally vetted all the best beaches, delicious bistros and hippest cocktail bars (tough work, we know) and narrowed it down to a curated travel plan. You can follow our itineraries exactly with little fuss, or mix and match to suit your preferences.

Is this a travel guide?

Yes and no. Our itineraries don’t attempt to list and review every single accommodation, eating or sight-seeing option. Instead we’ve done the hard work of narrowing all the available options down to a manageable greatest hits list containing the must-dos and some under-the-radar choices we’ve scouted ourselves. That said, our itineraries have plenty of resources and so if you want to use only a Rose + Gully itinerary for your trip, we like to think you’ll be pretty well set up.
How to use the guide:

Can the itinerary items be moved around?

You bet. Feel free to mix and match activities to make the schedule your own. We list additional activities and restaurants in our Resources section that don’t appear in the itinerary. You can also swap days entirely to match your own preferences schedule. It’s entirely up to you. If you’re mixing and matching activities, keep location, travel times and optimal times of day for certain activities in mind. For instance, if you’re on a tropical island and the itinerary calls for snorkeling, optimal snorkel time is always in the morning.

What happens if the weather ruins my plans?

Nothing is better at ruining vacation plans than inclement weather. You probably won’t want to hike to a stunning vista f it’s going to be really cloudy. Rough waters and cloudy skies are also not great for hitting the beach, but could be perfect for surf lessons. We’ve designed our itineraries so that it’s easy to swap out one day for another due to weather, and we also try to build in a day or two of activities that will work rain or shine so if you run into a stretch of bad weather you can just cut right to those days in the itinerary.

How do you choose your itinerary items?

Painstaking research! We’ve personally vetted the best beaches, delicious bistros and hippest cocktail bars (tough work, we know) and narrowed it down to a curated travel plan. We try to provide a mix of activities that range from active and adventure-seeking to romantic to downright lazy.

What types of Accommodations do you recommend?

We typically recommend vacation rentals with kitchens for privacy and flexibility to dine in or go out. We love dining out on vacation, but we also really enjoy buying fresh local ingredients and cooking from time to time. It’s fun, healthy and budget-friendly.

What else should I know before booking?

Some activities and restaurants will require reservations in advance, especially if you are going in high season. We recommend calling ahead, or giving your itinerary to your travel agent or a local concierge to make reservations on your behalf. Also, some activities and sights will be closed on Sundays or other days. Always double check hours and closures against your exact dates to ensure that all activities are open on the days of the week you have planned. You may need to switch some days around.
